Move Over, Mayo: These 30 Aioli Recipes Meet All Your Dipping Needs

Maggie McCracken

Mar 29, 2024

Listen – we love ketchup, mayo, mustard, and all your other favorite condiments– by no means are we suggesting that mayo doesn’t have a place in BLTs and potato salad recipes. But, if you haven’t tried aioli — a popular dipping sauce with Mediterranean origins — you’re seriously missing out.

Aioli recipes are traditionally made with garlic, olive oil, and sometimes eggs (the combination of which is, of course, mayonnaise), but modern iterations also throw in lemon juice, garlic, and a whole plethora of other delicious herbs and spices. Here are 25 of our favorite aioli recipes, but be warned: once you dip your French fries in aioli, you’ll never go back.

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (15)

Jalapeño Aioli

Let's start things off with a little spice, shall we? This zesty, zingy aioli gets infused with jalapeños, garlic, cilantro, and lime juice to form the most delicious flavor. (via Vanilla and Bean)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (16)

Super Easy Garlic Aioli

Let’s start off with the most mainstream, common version of aioli you’re likely to find. This easy-to-make recipe contains only five ingredients: mayo, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Like all aioli creations, this sauce is perfect for adding to sandwiches and burgers, and will also take your fries to a *whole* new level. (via Cooking With Curls)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (17)

Cilantro Lime Aioli

Aioli recipes are *delish* on a quesadilla or another Mexican-inspired meal. The flavors of cilantro and lime pair with all kinds of flavorful (and spicy) foods. (via Goodie Godmother)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (18)

Rosemary Aioli

Paired here with meatballs, rosemary aioli is a bit more herbaceous. The flavors of rosemary go well with meats. We also recommend serving this sauce on the sandwich portion of a hearty soup-and-sammie meal. (via The Iron You)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (19)

Pesto Aioli

Use some store-bought or homemade pesto to mix into thick mayo, and you have yourself an exceptional (and easy!) aioli recipe. (via Hello Little Home)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (20)

Truffle Aioli

One bite of this rich aioli recipe, and you'll be hooked. It's especially tasty alongside some fries! (via Vikalinka)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (21)

Basic Homemade Aioli

This pick is as straightforward as aioli gets. If you're looking to hone your kitchen craft with more homemade dips and sauces, this aioli recipe is a great place to start. (via Feel Good Foodie)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (22)

Roasted Garlic Aioli

Here’s another crowd-pleasing garlic aioli recipe for you. Pro tip: roast the garlic by cutting it in half, placing the middle side down on a piece of foil, drizzling with olive oil, and roasting for about 30 minutes. You’ll unlock a super-rich flavor that you just can’t get with raw garlic. (via The Suburban Soapbox)

The Best Aioli Recipes

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (23)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (29)

Chipotle Lime Aioli

Lemon-Dill Aioli Sauce

Not so much into the peppery, spicy sauces? Keep things light and fresh with this lemon and dill-flavored creation. When prepping this aioli, be sure to bring your egg yolks to room temperature, or you may have some trouble getting them to mix with the rest of the sauce. (via Savor The Best)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (32)

Vegan Egg-Free Aioli

Here’s another one for the plant-based eaters out there. The secret ingredient in this recipe is aquafaba... that is, chickpea water. These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (36)

Easy Lemon Aioli

When we say this recipe is easy, that’s kind of an understatement. There are literally two steps: whisk everything together, then allow it to chill in the fridge for 30 minutes. It’s *that* simple. (via Homemade Interest)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (37)

Creole Aioli

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (38)

Skinny Sriracha Aioli

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (39)

Garlic Avocado Aioli

All those classic garlic aioli recipes we’ve shared above are fabulous, but adding some avocado can be a *total* game-changer. With this recipe, you’ll whip some fresh avo right into the mixture, adding creamy texture and stellar flavor. (via Cafe Delites)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (40)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (42)

Basil Garlic Aioli

If you’re a big pesto fan, you’ll adore this basil-garlic sauce. In addition to being a perfect addition to French fries, it would also go great on any kind of Italian-inspired sammie, such as an eggplant Parm or meatball sub. (via Self Proclaimed Foodie)

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (43)

Roasted Garlic Chipotle Aioli

See those eggs in the background? That’s because this recipe has you making mayo from scratch. It doesn’t get more wholesome than that. These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (44)

We thought we’d round off our list with another classic iteration of aioli. This garlic-infused version is perfect for all your aioli needs, but we *especially* love it with French fries and a glass of white wine. Cheers! (via Tasty Kitchen)

Whenever spring rolls around, it's tempting to change your whole look — especially when it comes to short haircuts for women. The season is inspired by growth and change, so what better time to experiment with a dramatic chop? If you’re in the mood to say goodbye to the dead ends that accumulated over the winter months, a short haircut could be in your future.

Less hair, means more freedom – and there are a ton of stylish ways to embrace shorter locks. To get the inside scoop on which short haircuts that look flattering on well, everyone, we asked for expert insight from Jennifer Nast, a stylist at Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger Salon in NYC. Jennifer has a creative spirit and her work speaks for itself; she describes herself as more of a tailor than hairstylist given the intentional focus she gives to the structural elements of each cut she performs. Find this master stylist's favorite short haircuts for women to see (and give) below.

Pixie Haircut With Long Bangs

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (45)

“This hairstyle is mostly short around the sides and back, with the front being long,” says Nast. “Here you see Kerry Washington with the long bangs, this keeps the look soft. There is something very sexy about hair around the eyes.” Longer bangs bring an air of mystery to your everyday look, even if you’re doing something as commonplace as running errands, making it a fun take on a short haircut if you can stand having hair on your face.

Pixie Haircut With Short Bangs

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (46)

“The hair is short all around with the bangs short [making this look] a more classic pixie cut,” shared Nast. “This cut is low maintenance, totally wash and go. Zoe Kravitz has donned this look many times – It’s a very strong and bold style.” Low maintenance and high reward? Consider us sold.

Pixie Haircut With Undercut

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (47)

“This look is short on the sides and back, but the top and front are kept longer. This disconnection between the top and bottom gives this look an edgy vibe,” mentioned Nast. “This cut is great for the “hair-flipper" and works well with finer hair textures. It can make the most out of less hair.” This haircut is great for accepting and embracing fine hair – we all have different textures that deserve the same love!

Long Pixie Haircut

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (48)

Photo by Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images

“This version of the pixie cut is longer all around. There is less layering and it has more hair in the back, around the ears, and in front,” says Nast. “With the longer pixie, you have more styling options; you can go slick, tucked behind the ears, or with volume and texture.” Act + Acre’s styling paste is a must-have for those with a long pixie that want their volume to stay put all day.

Short Pixie Haircut With Pompadour

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (49)

- “Short on the sides and back, leaving a little length in the front and on top, the front fringe area of this cut is worn styled up and back,” shared Nast. Confidently rock short locks with this haircut perfect for volume-lovers.

Short Shag Haircut

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (50)

“This haircut gives a strong shape [to those who have it],” shared Nast. “You have a heavy fringe, and lots of short layers all around, leaving a bit of length around the hairline [making it look] highly styled with minimal effort.” There’s a reason that RHOBH star, Lisa Rinna, is a long-time fan of this cut.

Medium Shag Haircut

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (51)

“This [cut] usually has a short front, medium length in the back, and lots of short layers on top,” says Nast. “This is a strong haircut that looks super edgy, and can be worn straight or natural.” If you’re ready to enter your Reputation Era, this is the haircut you need.

Chin Length Bob Haircut

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (52)

Photo by Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images for Vanity Fair

“Bob haircuts are super versatile,” mentioned Nast. “The chin-length Bob looks chic and professional; this haircut is great if you have thin hair,” but Nast shared a tip to “keep the cut blunt for optimal thickness.” Plus, the fact that trend-setter Hailey Bieber took the internet by storm with this hairstyle last summer makes us want to run to the salon and try it for ourselves ASAP.

Layered Bob Haircut

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (53)

“This haircut offers lots of styling options; It can be worn straight, wavy, natural, or tied back,” says Nast. “Layering will give you lots of movement and volume. You can also choose to add a bang like for added interest and style.” Our queen, Taylor Swift has been spotted in this style time and time again, and if she’s wrong for doing so… then we simply don’t want to be right.

Bowl Haircut

These Holiday-Inspired Whole30 Recipes Won’t Leave You Deprived (54)

“This haircut has a heavy length around the ear, not [have] much layering, and only short [hair] at the sideburns and back,” shared Nast. If it appeals to you, “this look can be very androgynous.” However, if regular salon visits are something that you don’t want to add to your schedule, Nast warned that “this haircut can be high maintenance as you need to get it cut every 4 weeks to keep the look sharp.”

In short: Hailey Bieber said absolutely nothing about Selena Gomezpublicly on social media, or otherwise. Like so many of us, Bieber merely posted Beyoncé's "Jolene" to her Instagram story — an iconic cover of Dolly Parton's legendary song. Nothing too surprising, given that Cowboy Carter is one of the most-anticipated new music releases for 2024. So what's the damage? Fans are apparently tying the song – notoriously about a man-stealing woman — to Bieber's relationship with Gomez, since both have been romantically tied to Justin Bieber at one point in the past.

But the thing is: there's nothing there. The two women have asked their respective fans to leave the other alone and stop speculating about a "feud" of any type between them. So why does everyone keep reaching for drama? Begging for them to tear each other down? Wanting them to fight over a man? It's a pastime that's gone on for years online and in the media — this town isn't big enough for two women to win, so they have to hate each other, right?

Obviously, raising this issue isn't going to fix it overnight, but if we can point out one thing, please let it be this: Hailey Bieber just wanted to listen to Beyoncé, okay? Let's also just put the album on and mind our own business for now.

What went down between Selena and Hailey in Paris?

Paris Fashion Week brings together some of the most elite celebrities, but we didn't expect to see both Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber on their way to the same locations twice in one day!

Gomez and Bieber were both seen lunching at the same restaurant called L'Avenue. Although this spot is known to be a celebrity watering hole, it's still interesting that the two could have been there at the same time.

The night before, September 26, the two celebs were seen at The Flower Nightclub. What makes this tidbit even more juicy is that the two seemed to be dressed in very, very similar outfits. Both looked stunning in black dresses and black shoes.

While one of these instances occurring could be dismissed as a coincidence, two just feels like something more is going on. Social media platforms, such as TikTok, are blowing up with speculation as to where these two could be in terms of their relationship, and we're all ready to see what happens next!

Where Is The "Friends" Cast Now? Here's Where You Can Watch Your Favorite Stars.

Chloe Williams

Mar 29, 2024

I will never say no to watching an episode of Friends. The jokes make me laugh out loud every single time, the outfits changed fashion and beauty in the real world (hello The Rachel!), and there's nothing more iconic than Monica's purple apartment. The cast of Friends embody their roles so well, and thanks to the hilarious moments written into the show, and the fact the series ran for 10 whole seasons, their IRL friendship totally comes through onscreen.

If you've finished your own rewatch for the thousandth time (of both the OG series and the Friends reunion), but still want to see Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc, then here are some other movies and TV shows featuring the cast of Friends to add to your watchlist!

Jennifer Anistonas Rachel Green

Friends truly launched Jennifer Aniston into A-lister status and the actress has been in a number of movies and TV shows since playing Rachel Green (a role that earned her five Primetime Emmy nominations, and a win for Lead Actress). Jennifer ended up starring in a number of iconic 2000s movies, including Rumor Has It, Marley & Me, He's Just Not That Into You, as well as Just Go with It and both Murder Mystery movies opposite Adam Sandler. She's had two very public marriages, the first with Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005, and the second with Justin Theroux from 2015 to 2018.

Courteney Cox as Monica Geller

Before Courteney Cox joined the cast of Friends, she had roles in Family Ties, Seinfeld, and Murder She Wrote. After Friends took off, Courteney landed a leading role in the cult classic Scream franchise and has since appeared in all six original movies (she's also in talks to join Scream 7!). She directed Brandi Carlisle's "Right On Time" music video, and got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023! After a 14-year marriage to David Arquette, Courteney Cox has been in a relationship with Johnny McDaid since 2013.

Lisa Kudrow asPhoebe Buffay

Before I watched Friends, I knew Lisa Kudrow from Emma Roberts' standout 2000s movie Hotel For Dogs. Lisa has also starred in Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, P.S. I Love You, Emma Stone's Easy A, and Booksmart. She married Michel Stern in 1995, and when she got pregnant with her son Julian in 1998, the pregnancy was written into the show! (Remember when Phoebe serves as her brother's surrogate? Yeah, that's one plot arc I'm pretty sure I'll never forget.) As of 2024, she's an executive producer on the game show 25 Words or Less.

Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing

Chandler Bing is tied with Rachel for my favorite Friends character, just like Matthew Perry is my favorite member of the cast of Friends. In between scoring the role of Chandler and waiting for the show to air on television, he worked alongside Gwyneth Paltrow at the Williamstown Theater Festival in 1993. Matthew got Emmy nominations for his work on The West Wing and The Ron Clark Story, and starred in Fools Rush In opposite Salma Hayek and 17 Again. He released his memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing in 2022. Matthew Perry passed away in October 2023.

Matt LeBlanc asJoey Tribbiani

In addition to Friends, Matt LeBlanc has starred in a number of other movies and TV shows. He was in Charlie's Angels and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, and served as both lead actor and executive producer on Man with a Plan. Even after Friends ended, Matt technically didn't leave the cast of Friends because he got his own spinoff! Joey (which also starred Jennifer Coolidge) aired from 2004-2006 and follows Joey Tribbiani as he tries to make it as an actor in LA.

David Schwimmer as Ross Geller

Before booking Friends, David Schwimmer had roles on Blossom and The Wonder Years. Just like the rest of the cast of Friends, David Schwimmer took some other roles throughout the show's 10-year run. He starred in Band of Brothers, all three Madagascar movies (icon behavior!), and played Robert Kardashian in The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story. David directed 10 episodes of Friends and two of Joey! He has one child with his ex-wife Zoë Buckman.

Are the Friends cast Friends now?

Yes, the cast of Friends are still friends today! They often post about each other on social media, and on Courteney Cox's birthday, Jennifer Aniston took the time to point out her friend's best qualities. “I’d like to take a moment and wish my dearest CC the happiest of birthdays,” Jennifer says on Instagram. “If you’ve been lucky enough to know her, you know how incredible she is.”

"[Friends] changed my life in every way," Matthew Perry told People in 2021. "I got the show when I was a 24-year-old man; the show ended when I was 34. It formed my life. And it was the time of my life."

What happened to Joey from Friends?

After the events of the Friends finale, Joey took off to LA to pursue acting in his own spinoff Joey! He moves in with his sister Gina and his nephew Michael. And in true Joey fashion, he soon falls for his superintendent Alexis. The show aired on NBC from 2004 to 2006.
