Posed as Immigrant In 1921 she went to Ireland to investigate conditions in the United States immigration service. She returned steerage class, posing as an immigrant, and wrote a series of stories on her experiences at Ellis Island. She subsequently took part in The Tribune's coverage of the noted trial in 1924 of Richard Loeb and Nathan Leopold, slayers of Bobby Franks. Later she was on the staff of The Washington bureau. She left the newspaper in 1933.
